After getting stuck for as long as two months inside quarantine facilities waiting for their COVID-19 test results to be released, OFWs were left without a choice but to stay under NAIA Expressway as they were not allowed to travel due to the restrictions brought by COVID-19.
In a series of photos that were posted online, several OFWs were resting under the NAIA Expressway in Pasay City.
Still, with their belongings, these OFWs rested while waiting for their flights to go to the province. Meanwhile, a lot of netizens couldn’t help but feel on these OFWs for being less cared.
“Honor Our OFWs as they are truly our Modern day heroes, they deserve every ounce of our respect for the sacrifices they’ve made and the hardships they’ve endured. So better salute them for the heroes and martyrs they truly are. Now, where’s the red carpet for them,” says one netizen.
“My God Kawawa naman,” says another netizen.
“Calling all the politicians, Siguro Kung ako may sasakyan at may personal driver inutusankona para ihatidsakani-kanilangpupuntahan,” says one OFW who’s willing to offer some help.
It can be recalled that President Duterte had to step forward as the number of OFWs stuck inside quarantine facilities for more than the required 14 days, became alarmingly huge. He mandated that these OFWs be released within a week.
