Some people think that working abroad means living comfortably and luxuriously. But in reality, it takes hard work, perseverance, patience to endure the sacrifices that they had to bear and determination by all OFWs for the sake of being able to provide their families with better lives.
In a Facebook post of John Clarence Cruz, he shared a video which showed one side of the conditions of our fellow “kababayans” who are working abroad.
An OFW who works as a pipe fitter in Saudi Arabia was interviewed while having his meal. He was seen eating rice and fried egg in a plastic. When asked if it was a free meal at work, he claimed he cooked it for himself. He claimed he would rather have fried egg instead of buying his food which was not properly cooked.
Towards the end of the video, a workmate “grabbed” a piece of the egg which he gratefully shared and even offered more.
Many netizens were all praises to the OFW on the video who highlighted one of the traits of the Filipinos, “pagiging matiisin” (patience) and dedication to work. They said they felt proud for being a Filipino.
Kudos to you, Kabayan!
