Through an entrapment operation, an alleged illegal recruiter who was offering jobs to Singapore was busted.
According to GMA News, the suspect was identified as Leonida Guce, who kept denied all allegations towards her. Guce was arrested inside a restaurant where she received the money of the victim whom she offered a job abroad.
According to Police Superintendent Ricky Neron, chief of PNP-CIDG Provincial Field Unit, the suspect is offering a job with a salary not less than P50,000 in Singapore.
As it turns out, the suspect is not registered by the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration and no one from the applicants got the chance to work abroad.
One of her victim identified as Allen Isip, from San Fernando, La Union, even resigned from her work to give time for the processing of her papers. But even after giving money, Allen didn’t leave for work abroad.
Just recently, the suspect called and requested for another P30,000. When she gave the money, Guce once again asked Allen to wait.
Despite the entrapment operation, that caught her on act receiving the money, Guce still denied that she knew the complainant. According to her, she didn’t sign anything which will serve as proof that she received money from Allen.
Currently, there are already 10 individuals who filed a complaint against Guce. The CIDG, moreover, believes that this number will grow as the news was publicized.
She will be facing a large scale estafa and illegal recruitment.
