It takes a lot of courage to go and work aboard. Working in the Philippines is already a challenge, how much more if you will together with another nationality and cope with their cultures and traditions?
When planning to work abroad, it is also very important to secure important documents with you, such as your passport, plane tickets, boarding pass, and others. On top of that, it is also very important to check if you are applying for a work from a registered recruitment agency.
Illegal recruitment is rampant these days and despite the digital age, where news regarding them are easily accessed, there are still Filipinos who fall prey to these abusive individuals.
Facebook user Robert Veluya posted a video on his social media account, asking for help for a fellow Kababayan who was left alone inside the airport. She also does not have a plane ticket back to the Philippines.
According to Veluya, the employer of the woman didn’t fetch her in the airport, leaving her totally helpless especially because she does not have a return ticket to the Philippines.
The woman was identified as Maria Theresa Amania, from Calumpit, Bulacan. She is currently at Riyadh airport waiting for help to arrive.
She also didn’t mention the name of her agency in the Philippines so they can help her return to the Philippines.
Aya si Maria Theresa Amania, taga calumpit bulacan, Sana matulongan sya Ng embassy natin, iniwan sya dito sa riyadh airport Ng walang ticket pa uwi Ng pilipinas
