Two Filipina housemaids are facing charges at the Dubai Court of First Instance after the two allegedly took the belongings of their employer, including cash and some jewelry.
The two Filipina, ages 29 and 47, allegedly took Dh10,000 amount of jewelry, Dh4,500 worth of cash and 67 pieces of women’s clothing and shoes, according to Khaleej Times.
Aside from that, the two detained Filipina maids were accused of taking five travel bags, cosmetic items, mobile phone, and even kitchenware.
According to the reports, the incident took place on December 7, 2018. The Emirati sponsor, 33, was the one who first noticed that their maids were not in their rooms.
“He told me that the maids were not in the house. I went to check their room and found it was tidy in a way suggesting they did not spend the night there,” says the female sponsor.
When she checked her things, she found out that some of her personal belongings went missing.
“I found that five travel bags were missing. I had put stuff in those bags and kept them in a storage room near the kitchen. The room’s key was left with other keys in the living room,” she told the public prosecution investigator,” says the sponsor.
Her Emirati husband immediately filed a complaint regarding the matter at the police station. From there, a warrant of arrest was made against the two women.
The stolen belongings were retrieved from the maids later on.
