The Social Security System (SSS) reminded the public to update their contact information particularly those who are individually-paying members, non-working spouses, self-employed, voluntary members and Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs). Once updated, they will receive a Payment Reference Number (PRN) sent by SSS via text message.
For members to instantly pay, validates, acknowledge and transmit payment contribution, they need to join the Real-Time Processing of Contributions (RTPC). Before joining, members need to provide the PRN.
“We strongly urge our members who are not yet registered in the My.SSS facility so they could generate their PRN online, to provide SSS their contact information for the issuance of PRNs via SMS. This way, they will be able to pay their monthly contributions and avoid delays in the processing of their benefit claims and other services,” says Emmanuel F. Dooc, SSS President and Chief Executive Officer.
“There are three ways to update their contact information. One is thru over-the-counter in any of the SSS branches nationwide. Two, thru My.SSS account in our website. Three, thru the SSS Mobile Application. We call on our members to also register in the My.SSS facility in the SSS website (www.sss.gov.ph) and SSS Mobile Application, so they could generate their PRN on their own,” he added.
In the past, SSS announced that contributions can still be claimed even without PRN but this advantage is only limited to those who already received their PRN before.
For payment without PRN, they will request you to update your contact information in their database. Members will receive an SMS containing their PRN so they can use in their next payment.
