And the lucky winner of $39.5 million jackpot goes to a Filipina in Canada.
The Lotto Max Draw, which happened on Friday, December 28, 2018, was awarded to a Filipina whose name is Michelle De Roma.
According to De Roma, she was at the Boxing Day shopping trip located at the Tsawwassen Mills outlet mall when she happened to purchase the winning lotto tickets.
After that, De Roma tried to check if she won anything and it showed “it’s a winner” then $39 million was showed. She told her husband immediately who shouted “Wow!”
It took them several days before cashing their winnings and they also didn’t share the good news to their children right away. It was on January 4 when they finally claimed their prize.
According to De Roma, she will use the money to buy a new house for her family, support the needs of her kids and travel with them.
De Roma also plans to move out of Surrey but they still do not know the exact city to move to. She also plans to go to and visit another country, particularly Europe, with her mother-in-law.
“Our lives have been changed forever. Dreams do really come true,” says De Roma.
