Last year was a tough year for Overseas Filipino Workers bound for Kuwait due to the implementation of the total deployment ban. Nonetheless, the issue had been settled and the sending of Filipino domestic helpers to Kuwait was resumed following the work agreement which was signed by both countries – Philippines and Kuwait.
Aside from that, there’s a controversy involving embassy staff allegedly rescuing a Filipina domestic helper escaping from her employer. Everything was caught in a video. As per the agreement signed by both countries, these activities are illegal.
However, a certain DAVE, a taxi driver in Kuwait got dragged in the same situation just because he is doing his job – letting passengers ride his cab. DAVE was imprisoned.
After months of being in the prison, Dave finally speaks up regarding the entire encounter and the incident that cost him his freedom in Kuwait.
In the video which was posted on his Facebook account, he personally mentioned a certain “Sol”. Dave particularly mentioned her as someone who brought him to the jail.

According to Dave, OFW Salinas asked him for help because her employer was treating her badly. The OFW wants to ride on the cab of Dave to the Philippine Embassy. Salinas, the OFW, gave Dave the taxi payment after giving her a ride to the Philippine Embassy.
The next day, Dave was shocked to know that police were already looking for him. Sol, from the Philippine Embassy in Kuwait, called Dave and requested him to go to the Embassy.
Because he was guilty and thought that he did nothing wrong, Dave went to the Embassy and explained his side. However, this Sol said that he will be brought to another place. It was too late when Dave realized that he will be sent to prison, accompanied by Sol.
Her horror started then. Inside the prison, he was treated inhumanely. After 25 days, her lawyer, who was kind enough to assist him, found out that no case was filed against him, yet he was kept in custody.
