There is really no certainty when you work abroad. If there are success stories of Overseas Filipino Workers(OFW), there are also those gruesome ones that will make you rethink of working in a foreign land.
A Filipina Overseas worker was found lifeless in a river in Malaysia.
According to the reports of GMANews, a woman was found lifeless in a river in Malaysia last November 28. The woman was identified as Madelyn Asuncion from Zamboanga City, Philippines.
The victim acquired stab wounds all over her body and was also found without clothes. It was found out that the Filipina went to Malaysia 10 years ago with his father.
The family of the victim is asking for help from President Rodrigo Duterte so her body can be brought back to the Philippines.
However, Asuncion failed to renew her membership with the Overseas Worker’s Welfare Administration (OWWA)resulting in a much lower bereavement assistance only amounting to P20,000 that will be given to her family.
There is no further news regarding the reason behind the bereavement assistance involving the Filipina. Her family wishes for justice to prevail but as of the moment, there is no crime suspect and the no case will be pursued.
