The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) formally launches the OFW e-card, fully-equipped with benefits and advantages.
The issuance of this e-cards is in line with the Republic Act 10801 as a proof of membership. This e-card aims to provide faster transactions by integrating digital technology in all areas of business processes as well as core functions.
OWWA hopes that this e-card will result in positive changes in the agency’s operations, programs, and services to its OFW members.
OFW e-card holders are also given digital e-cards that lets you access the OWWA mobile app which can be downloaded from Apple Store and Google Play for free.

Digital e-cards and the actual e-card both have the same personal information of the bearer through its unique QR code. This way, when the OFW member loses the physical card, they can still use it through the mobile app in their smartphone which can just be used as a physical card.
Additionally, the mobile app can be used to browse any local news and membership registration and status that are being updated regularly.
Through the use of this mobile app, frontline personnel can simply verify the status of members and applicants. However, this OWWA e-card is still a work in progress. Along the way, there will be few problems but this renovation is surely something to look up to.
