Justice has been served to this Filipina who only defended herself from the supposed s3xual harassment of her employer, resulting in the death of the latter.
On December 2015, Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) Jennifer Dalquez killed her employer who tried to commit sexual contact with her. Luck finally got her way as she is now free and set to return to the Philippines this Friday.
The Philippine Embassy is already having talks with the local authorities in UAE for the flight of Dalquez back to the Philippines.
When Dalquez, from General Santos City, first stepped in UAE last December 2011, she aspires of giving her two young children a better life as was set to work as a household worker in the Arab country.
But every dream she had for her children turned sour on December 7, 2014. She killed her employer, who works as an Emirati policeman because he tried to rape her, threatening her with a knife.
Dalquez got the chance to hold the knife and killed the perpetrator accidentally.
“I k!lled my employer who is a policeman because he tried to rape me. She burned me. He beat, punched and broken the door then hit me with a bottle in my face, above my eyes,” Dalquez confessed.
The death penalty was announced by the Al Ain Court of First Instance on May 20, 2015. But on January 2017, the OFW pleaded President Duterte to save her because everything she did was self-defense.
“I am pleading our beloved President to help me return to the Philippines. You are the only hope I have to be free from being imprisoned,” says Dalquez.
Finally, Dalquez got acquitted because the two sons of the victim failed to appear before the court in two consecutive sessions and swear to Allah 50 times that there is no other person inside their residence when the incident happened except for their father and the OFW.
The Department of Foreign Affairs welcomed Dalquez as she was released from the prison.
