Domestic helpers, no matter their nationality, are the ones who always get subjected to danger and mistreatment.
For Overseas Filipino Workers working as domestic helpers, we’ve seen a rise of mistreatment cases from different parts of the world, particularly in the Middle East.
This time, another Filipina is asking for help because her employer locked her inside a room and beat her. Thankfully, this Filipina is creative enough as she decided to write her concern in a piece of paper and throw it to anyone who passes by the window.
A certain Divina Marcos posted in her Facebook account several pieces of paper and a woman from inside a window. It turns out that the woman from the window threw pieces of paper, asking for help because her employer is mistreating her.
In one of the paper, it says:
“I need [to] help, my employer is strike [to] me, all my body is a pain, in my room she’s lock [she locked me in my room], I want to go to Philippine Embassy or agency please help. This is my agency 0536-407-585. I’m Almira Cayetano.”
In another paper, these words were written in Filipino.
The woman identifies herself as Almira Cayetano. Her current situation remains uncertain up to the moment
